Dear OneCoMission Partners,

Over the past several weeks we’ve been sharing the exciting news that World Compassion is now OneCoMission. If you happened to miss those updates, you can read why we made this change, and the meaning behind our new name here.

As we step into this new season as OneCoMission, our mission itself remains unchanged. In fact, this month’s update beautifully illustrates why we believe our new name so clearly reflects who we are.

During our recent time in Asia, we witnessed God moving powerfully as local believers were equipped to make disciples, strengthen the Church, and carry the Gospel into places where it is often the hardest to follow Jesus. It was a powerful reminder that although our name has changed, we remain united around the one commission Christ entrusted to His Church: the Great Commission. That’s what OneCoMission stands for.

While I was in Asia, I had the privilege of spending time with pastors, church leaders, missionaries, and students who are faithfully serving Christ despite the significant cost of following Jesus.

Many of these leaders are using our ABC Bible and Leadership Curriculum and Missions Training Courses to disciple believers and prepare the next generation of church leaders.

Every trip I make reminds me why this ministry exists. But this most recent one left me with something I wasn’t expecting.
I expected to hear stories of hardship. I expected to hear about the challenges churches continue to face and the practical needs of ministry. Those stories certainly exist. But everywhere we went, another message rose above them all.

The Fruit of Consistency

I witnessed the fruit of years of faithful ministry, consistent partnership, and God’s faithfulness at work.
For years, we’ve dreamed of gathering the pastors and students who use our ABC curriculum. In some places it has simply not been possible. In others, it has often been too risky. This time, we did it.

Hundreds of pastors and ABC students gathered together, representing many churches and several denominations. One leader told me he had never been with such a diverse group of church leaders in one place.

Personally, it was one of the most encouraging moments I’ve experienced in ministry.

As I looked across that room, I wasn’t simply seeing a conference. I was seeing years of faithful partnership brought to life through your prayers, your generosity, and the steady investment in biblical leadership training. I saw churches united in a nation often marked by division, and I saw a generation of believers passionately preparing to reach their own nation and beyond. That same vision is expanding.

During our visit to Asia, we partnered with longtime Chinese ministry leaders to commission a full-time missionary training center that will prepare Chinese believers to take the Gospel to the unreached across the Middle East and beyond.

Everywhere I traveled, I met faithful men and women boldly sharing Christ, discipling new believers, and planting churches. One pastor shared that more than 2,000 people in his own church have completed our ABC curriculum.

There is no shortage of passion. The greatest need is capacity.

Paul captured this vision perfectly when he wrote:
“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2)

For more than five decades, this has been the heartbeat of our ministry. We invest in people who will invest in others. One disciple teaching another. One leader raising another. One generation preparing the next. This is how the Gospel has always spread, and it remains the most sustainable way to strengthen the Church in the world’s hardest places. We want to multiply this work even further.

As I looked at the faces of the pastors, students, and future missionaries in the rooms where we gathered, I couldn’t help but thank God for what He is doing. The harvest is ready, the opportunities are increasing, and together we have the privilege of helping prepare the next generation of leaders who will carry the Gospel into places many of us will never go.
